Seriously..... I am at absolute bliss when I am in my kitchen just working with what I have in my cupboards. What about you? I find it so relaxing to just be creative and challenge myself to come up with something amazing from what one (my husband) might think of as nothing. The amount of times I amaze my husband with meals out of nothing is just hilarious. He will always ask me: Where did this come from? Of course I always answer: Honey, I ONLY buy ingredients, that's why you can't see any food in the fridge or cupboards... Oh Dear.
I have a simple small kitchen that works for me. Everything I need is there at arms reach I might add haha. But there is something so tranquil about working in complete harmony and creating an amazing dish. I find that that is when I create my most memorable dishes. The only thing I struggle with is writing down what I did.... whoops! I'm so careless when it comes to cooking that I always think I will remember what I did, but the truth is, I always forget! New goals for 2019 is to write more, spend more time with a pen and paper and less time on social media.
I know a lot of people create health and fitness goals for the new year, which is amazing. But I have created completely different goals for myself this year. Yes, of course I want health and fitness, that will come for sure. But I believe health starts in the kitchen. Learning to make basic meals from basic ingredients will help you shed pounds faster than anything. The more time I spend in my kitchen the healthier I become. The more I learn about what health ingredients truly are,and how to incorporate them into our daily nutrition the healthier I become.
This year I have created goals like, more books less media, more tea and water, less coffee ( I know, I sound crazy, and I have a 6 month old!)
This year I want to work on improving myself in completely different ways. I want to work on educating myself more. Becoming a smarter, brain healthier version of myself. All the while spending lots of time in my kitchen experimenting with what I already know, and learning new and exciting things along the way.
Share below some of your 2019 goals, and also, if you find the kitchen a zen place, what are some of the best dishes you've created just by relaxing in your kitchen?
Until next time, I wish you all the best in 2019 goals, may you become a better version of yourself.
Happy Cooking!
Jen.
